Prado
in development . short film
Written and Directed by Alexandre Sousa
Produced by AIM Creative StudiosAfter seeing his dog running away, Miguel decides to leave the cold, isolated village where he lives. Bruno, his brother, in an attempt to convince him to stay, makes a pact with Miguel. If the dog shows up, he stays, if not, he’s free to go.
In the 2025 edition of Curtas Vila do Conde International Film Festival, PRADO, won the award for Best Project in Developement. The following is the juri’s statement:
“The subject matter is very current and is pressing in many European societies and here it is condensed in one story line and two characters while it carries the weight of this pressing topic. In a simple form it is very complex.
The director’s approach is full of sensitivity and tenderness. The story, which is based on a personal experience, is expanded with the use of animation and its visual metaphors.“
